Austin Bat Cruise

I’m in Austin, Texas for An Event Apart, and the organizers booked a lovely sunset dinner cruise for all the speakers. We got some good tex-mex, clear skies for a perfect sunset, and lovely weather to enjoy it all in. Here are some shots from the evening, looking off the front of the boat.

Unfortunately, you can’t really capture thousands of tiny bats speeding around in the dark with a phone camera, but we did get to witness many bats coming out under the bridge to snack on bugs. Also, we got to watch the ISS fly across the night sky.

Thanks to Eric, Jeffrey, Toby, and everyone else in the AEA crew, the cruise was something I’ll remember for a good long while.
