A great podcast episode

A great podcast episode
Aimee Mann, Rev Hall, November 2024

I've been a fan of Alex Goldman for years, going all the way back to when he was interning at WYNC and started a podcast with his fellow intern PJ Vogt.

A lot has happened since and he's out on his own with a podcast called HyperFixed. It started as a "super tech support" show where Alex goes above and beyond to help someone solve a problem. As the problems diverge from pure "tech" problems, the solutions get more interesting.

This episode is a theater recording of the first HyperFixed live show and it really hits all the right notes:

HyperFixed | Two Birds, One Hundred Stones

I won't talk about the episode's content because every couple minutes was a new surprise that I want to leave to the listener to enjoy but it has a satisfying conclusion.

Honestly, it's as good as almost any episode of Heavyweight, the classic show about solving impossible problems for people that often took years of research to solve.

I used to say that every podcast takes about ten episodes to find its voice, and since HyperFixed launched last Fall, this episode might mark the shape it's likely turning towards for the future.
