I completely agree with this. If you are given a choice to follow an optimist (with supreme confidence of course), or a whiner about how bad things are, most will follow happy man. Of course, this could be Happy Man Lemming leading you to the cliff, but you will be smiling along the way.
The problem is that most people aren’t very smart. They’re more likely to sink to their worst fears than to disregard those fears and go with the optimist. Its a sad story, but unfortunately true.
